Using Trends To Target Keywords (Part 1)

Keywords are one of the most important elements when optimizing your website for search engines, second only to content. Without content your keywords wouldn't have anything to strengthen, but likewise your content should reflect the keywords you're trying to rank for. How do you know what keywords to target for? This is one of the most difficult questions in SEO and has to be constantly reassessed. What might be trending this month falls off a few months later. Luckily, as a Naked Lime customer, you have access to the analytics tool, Naked Lime reports, that can help you spot trends and know which keywords to target.

Keywords are more effective when they are specific which is why it's important to choose the right ones. Including 4-5 model names that are popular can make more of an impact than listing all the models ever made by your manufacturer. In the analytics tool you can access through the Naked Lime dealer tool, there are three website reports that show you which vehicles customers are searching for and clicking through to: the Vehicle Searches Report, Vehicle Views by Page, and Inventory Detail Drilldown. If customers are looking at specific models more often than others, you can bet that they are typing those models on search engines. This can help you know which keywords to target on the inventory pagesas well as which cars to feature as specials. Remember to use actual text when possible on your specials so that the search engines can index them.
