With all of the social media options available today, businesses often feel pressured to create a swarm of media accounts. But, “more” does not always mean “better.” With Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Yelp!, and so many other channels available, how do you get the biggest return from social media?
You might think that having an account for every social channel is the best way to go. After all, the more places your business is advertised the better, right? That’s true if you have active social media accounts, but active is the key word here.
The web – and especially social media – runs on fresh content. Keeping your social media up to date gives you the best opportunity to increase traffic to these pages and, ultimately, to your business.
Have you updated your social media accounts recently? If updating these accounts is not part of your routine, try focusing on one account for a while. Make updates regularly, respond to customers, and get into the social aspect of social media. You’ll find your time and effort will be better spent updating what you already have, instead of creating more accounts to ignore.
