Naked Lime Battles for Special Olympics

Our Naked Lime team might be just a tad bit competitive. We also have a hard time walking away from a good cause.

And that is how we came to be part of the Dayton Battle of the Businesses team with our friends at Reynolds and Reynolds.

The annual Battle of the Businesses brings together teams representing more than thirty Dayton area companies in what has become the biggest fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Greater Dayton.

Battle teams compete in coed sporting events, including volleyball, bowling, tug-of-war, track and field events, and more, with points awarded after each event. Teams also hold fundraising activities leading up to the games, with contributions going toward Special Olympics of Greater Dayton.

Reynolds and Reynolds fielded two Battle teams, and Naked Lime team members joined both. We like to think it’s no coincidence, then, that Reynolds took both the Grand Champion and Division I Championship spots this year.

Special Olympics of Greater Dayton provides athletic training and competitions for people with intellectual disabilities. There is no cost for athletes to participate, which is why fundraising is so important. The opportunity for the athletes to develop physical fitness, skills, friendships, confidence, and courage make Special Olympics a cause Naked Lime is happy to battle for every year.

And bragging rights are pretty awesome, too.
