Mobile devices have changed the way consumers shop for vehicles – but you already knew that. What you may not know is just how dramatic the shift to mobile shopping has been.
Here are a couple of fun facts, according to Edmunds.com:
- It’s estimated there are 137.5 million smartphone users in the U.S. right now. You should expect that number to jump by almost 40% by 2016.
- Mobile users are 88% more likely to do business with an auto dealer that has a mobile site.
Also, according to the J.D. Power 2013 New Autoshopper Study:
- Tablet and smartphone usage during the car-buying process dramatically increased, by 39% and 15% respectively, from the 2012 study.
- 34% of car shoppers who use the internet perform research using multiple devices, including desktop/laptops, smartphones, tablets, and gaming consoles.
Dealers who incorporate mobile into their marketing strategies are in a much better position to reach customers who are ready to buy. How is your dealership embracing the change?
